The flame on most butane lighters can be adjusted by using a small screwdriver or knife to turn the flame-adjust wheel, which is usually located on the outside edge of the butane intake valve (shown at right).
Turn the wheel to the right to reduce the flame size. Turn the wheel to the left to increase it. On some butane lighters, if the wheel is turned too far to the right, you will not get any response when trying to light it because there is not enough gas emerging from the lighter. If the wheel is turned all the way to the left, you may also not get a response because there is TOO MUCH gas coming out. Try to find a happy medium when adjusting your butane lighter.
Our lighters are made out of different materials based on the manufacturer and model. Generrally, our plastic lighters are made out of high quality impact-resistant PVC acrylic while our metal lighters are made of high quality, pressure-resistant metal that is either extruded or stamped.
We do offer custom engraving and/or printing on Zippo lighters on orders of 50 or more. Please click here for more information on this program. We can take out individual lighters for engraving however the cost to have us do this currently is more than if you took it to your local engraver. We do intend to offer this as a more cost-effective service in the very near future.
We also plan to offer shortly, custom medallions that can be affixed to Zippo lighters so please keep an eye on our RSS feed for more information about this program!
